MEDX-406 : Infectious Diseases
A four-week elective offered by the department of Internal Medicine; Division of Infectious Disease designed to:
• Learn basic and advanced principles of the pathogenesis of infectious diseases and host-pathogen interactions which provide the basis for understanding infectious diseases;
• Accumulate knowledge about practical approaches for the diagnosis, management and prevention of infectious diseases;
• Learn the optimal use of antimicrobial agents, including their appropriate use, toxicities, cost-effectiveness as well as their mechanisms of action.; and
• Be able to present a clear, cohesive, and in-depth presentation of an infectious disease topic to the infectious diseases team.
